Membership in the Elementary Beta Club is an honor and a privilege. Selection is based on both academic achievement and character qualities that reflect the mission of Beta: to promote the ideals of honor, service, leadership, and achievement. Our Elementary Beta Club is for students in 5th grade.
To be considered for membership, students must meet the following criteria:
- Academic Achievement
- Students must demonstrate high academic performance, as evidenced by report card grades and overall achievement.
- A “B” in Accelerated/Advanced courses may be considered equivalent to an “A” in General Math.
- When necessary, grade percentages are utilized to help narrow the pool of eligible students.
- Character and Leadership
- Service and School Involvement
- Students should show a willingness to serve others and contribute positively to the school community.
- Opportunities for service may include classroom leadership, school-based initiatives, or participation in service-oriented clubs and teams.
Important Notes:
- While membership does not require a student maintain all A’s, student eligibility is dependent on the highest grade percentages of grade-level peers.
- Teacher recommendations will be completed by all content teachers and are a key part of the process for determining eligibility.
- Initial membership is considered at the end of the 4th grade year as our induction ceremony is held each spring. However, new members may also be considered after the first nine weeks of school.
