Assistant Principal - Corletha Varian
My name is Corletha Varian, and I am thrilled to be starting my 7th year as an Assistant Principal at East Lake Elementary! With over 20 years of experience in education, I’ve had the privilege of serving students in various roles—as an educator, district coach, and now, as a school leader.
My journey began in New York, where I worked as a teacher in a private school. In 2012, I transitioned to Henry County, Georgia, teaching 3rd and 4th grades. In 2016, I was honored to be named Teacher of the Year, which led me to take on a district coach role. As a coach, I served nine schools and facilitated professional development at both district and national levels.
My experiences as a district coach and participation in the Henry County School District A.S.P.I.R.E and L.E.A.D leadership programs have provided me with valuable skills and insights. My mission is to foster strong relationships with all educational stakeholders and to serve every student with equitable practices that promote high achievement.
Outside of work, I love to travel, bargain shop, and go on adventures with my amazing husband of 20 years and our dynamic family of four sons. I’m excited about another fantastic year at East Lake Elementary and look forward to working with this wonderful community!
